The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission prepared a draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Golden Pass Products LNG export project.  The draft EIS assesses the potential environmental effects of the construction and operation of the project in accordance with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).  The FERC staff concluded that approval of the proposed project, with the mitigation measures recommended by Golden Pass and additional measures recommended in the draft EIS, would not result in significant environmental impacts.

Two public comment meetings were held in Starks, Louisiana and Sabine Pass, Texas on April 19 and 20.  The FERC accepted public comments on the draft EIS through May 16, 2016.

Now, the FERC will review all public comments and is scheduled to publish a Final Environmental Impact Study in July 2016.
